Custom Copper Patina Deck Poles

A client asked me to create some copper patina panels for her wooden deck poles. And wow…..they turned out absolutely stunning! The wood and the copper complimented each other so beautifully with both elements being natural and organic.

Copper has some many decorative organic uses indoors and outdoors, as accent art and accents to existing pieces, such as these deck poles. We use copper to create wall art, backsplashes, additions to table tops, wave art, etc. Almost all of our art is on a custom basis. Clients come to me to make their copper ideas come to life. We work with the client to determine the vision of what the client is wanting and execute the copper art designs from there.

All of the copper that I work with is copper that I have aged through a process that I developed specifically for my art. Can’t wait to see what creative copper project we get to work on next. Grateful for all of the wonderful and creative clients that choose to use us for copper ideas.

Copper is able to blend in many environments, such as mountain homes, log homes, urban lofts, large sprawling ranches and smaller ranches. Truly, the possibilities are limitless and copper is the new black. :-)

Kitchen Backsplash

This copper patina mountain scene was a custom order from a client that is moving to Asheville, NC. They have built a beautiful custom kitchen and wanted a copper mountain scene to be inset into their kitchen backsplash. They wanted a copper statement piece to reflect their love of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I layered this piece and individually cut out all pieces after the aging was complete. Once all pieces were carefully composed, I completed it with 2 epoxy pours to cover and seal the copper art. This piece will make a stunning accent piece to their already gorgeous kitchen with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Copper Patina is a natural element that allows me to create an indoor art piece with outdoor, organic elements. A beautiful way to bring the outdoors into your indoor living spaces.

Hammered Copper Patina Accents for your Kitchen

A client recently asked me to create a patina on some hammered copper panels for her kitchen. She wanted to install them on the base of her kitchen island. It was my 1st time working with hammered copper and I love the look that I was able to achieve on the patina. She asked me to keep the patina subtle which was a little challenging for me. lol. I tend to reach for the bolder, richer colors but I was able to stay subtle and created a look that pulled all of her kitchen colors together. The subtle patina was perfect!

It won’t be my last time working with a patina on hammered copper. I can see me using this copper for all kinds of kitchen applications, ie the kitchen island panels, panels for kitchen cabinets, backsplashes and island tops with an epoxy pour over it. I can’t wait to work on some new pieces!

Copper Patina Large Bird Art

A gentleman from Maui contacted me about doing a 3’x4’ copper mural of his roosters. I had never done feathered friends before but found the idea very interesting and I am always up for a copper challenge. Commission works offers me a wonderful chance to think outside of my box. Thankfully people are willing to give me that opportunity. :-)

What I came to realize is, copper patina makes gorgeous feathers. The colors are so stunning. The other dilemma, I will call it, is how to make the feathers lay flat. I finally decided to do an epoxy pour on it in order to cover the feathers. It took 2 pours but ended up solving my dilemma and the entire piece of copper wall art of the roosters, turned out beautifully. Can’t wait to see a pic from the client once he hangs it.

This piece inspired me to begin a series on tropical and colorful copper patina birds. Working now on a blue and yellow McCaw. The feathers are tedious but so worth the extra time in the end.

5th + Broadway

So thrilled to have been a part of this new Enertainment Complex, 5th & Broaday opening in Nashville today. The client needed some Copper Patina Murals for a window display. I created 4 large 10’ murals to hang from the ceiling to be the set backdrop for the Country & Western themed window. It is Nashville, right?! The copper added a very classy and hi-end look to the retail window space.

Copper Murals can be used to create backdrops for TV sets, Retail Window Displays, Exhibit Booths, Retail walls, Restaurant walls, shopping complexes, Stage backdrops, etc. Copper is a beautiful natural element and a one of a kind patina can make the backdrop a beautiful accent wall. These were hung directly from the ceiling and they can also be applied directly to a wall or set backdrop.

Get creative with a copper patina look for your next set backdrop or window display!

Sunsets & Copper

Almost everyday I can be found somewhere, hunting down a sunset. There is something so spiritual with what happens to the sky as the sun is going down. It reminds me of my copper patina pieces. When I patina the copper, I let the copper patina unfold based on what the piece seems to be feeling. It’s like it has it’s own story to tell, just like a sunset. Whatever emerges, is a unique spiritually created piece of art. Regardless of where and how the piece is displayed ie, copper bar top, copper wall art, copper planter boxes/vases, copper commission pieces, etc- each piece is as unique and spiritually created as each sunset. The colors are so similar in the copper and the sunsets, I suppose it’s not surprise that I am passionate about both.

Copper Patina Wall Murals-

Copper Wall Murals have been a huge seller recently. From art pieces being sold at The Copper Fox Art Gallery in Leipers Fork to large commission pieces being requested. The above pair was a commission from a client here in Nashville.

While commission art can be a challenge, I love working with clients to create 1 of a kind art pieces for their homes. Copper Patina Wall Art Murals are a beautiful statement in rustic homes, mountain homes, contemporary homes and the new look of the rustic contemporary homes. Murals can be kept in the raw copper mural style or a hi-gloss epoxy laminate can be added for outdoor placement. Outdoor copper murals add a stunning array of color to your outdoor hard scapes. It really helps to soften up the hard scapes.
