Patina is a thin layer that variously forms on the surface of copper, bronze, and similar metals, or certain stones, and wooden furniture, or any similar acquired change through a similar surface through age and exposure.

We don't think it's a coincidence that Karla lives on Patina Circle! God works in mysterious ways to direct our paths and solidify our life's direction. Karla's private home studio, on Patina Circle, is where the magic happens! She uses chemicals, temperature and humidity, and other "secret" elements to create her custom copper pieces! "It's all about patience. I manipulate and then I wait and see the results. When working with copper, there are so many factors that affect the end result and the colors that you can achieve. I ask my clients for a color palate and then I go to work! It's always exciting to see how the piece evolves." Karla says.

When you meet with Karla to design your custom piece, she'll want to know a few pieces of information - the location you plan to put the copper, the color palate of that space, the size you envision, and the time frame for which you'd like the project to be complete. Karla can meet with you in your space for a consultation or she can do an online consultation. Karla is based in Nashville but has clients all over the United States! Shipping and travel installs are available, depending on the project.

Custom copper is just that - custom. Each piece is different, that's what makes it unique! Karla likes to work within a color palate to create her custom design for you and your space. Tile samples featured on this site are examples of colors she can achieve in the aging process. The colors are named after some of Karla's favorite sunsets from places she's visited...and a few places that are on her bucket list!
