"Howards Custom Copper Patina Mural"-

Introducing "Howards Custom Mural" – a captivating new artwork that brings together the fluidity of nature and the sheen of metal in a harmonious symphony. This piece is a heartfelt exploration of mixed media, meticulously crafted using copper patina.
In "Howards Custom Mural," I've ventured into the realm of copper patina leaves – an approach that lends the artwork a rich play of colors, from the warm hues of copper and gold to the cool tones of blue. These leaves intertwine with natural vines, set against a textured background that swirls with patterns of teal and blue. This amalgamation isn't just about crafting a visual image; it's about evoking a sense of movement and capturing the untamed beauty of the natural world.

The shimmering effect of the metallic leaves against the textured backdrop adds dimension and depth to the mural, engaging viewers and inviting them to explore the detailed nuances... This evolving play between the detailed patina and the organic patterns brings out a natural theme, enhancing the overall aesthetic and creating a visual piece that is as dynamic as it is serene.

The inception of "Howards Custom Mural" was born from a commission, a request that sparked my creativity and set me on the path to merge metal with the essence of nature. What truly set this creative journey apart was the all-encompassing use of copper patina. It was a unique challenge that allowed me to innovate and push the boundaries of what this medium could convey.

Sitting with this artwork, one can immerse themselves in the interplay of light and texture, experiencing a visual narrative that mirrors the unpredictable beauty of the natural world. I hope "Howards Custom Mural" draws you in and allows you to experience its movement and aesthetics as much as I enjoyed bringing it to life.

"The Day of the Dead" Celebration- Copper Patina Mural

Every artist embarks on a journey with each new creation, and my latest work, titled "Day of the Dead," is deeply inspired by the vibrant celebration of Día de los Muertos. This piece, measuring 24 x 36 inches and crafted from copper, explores both texture and tone, drawing from the rich cultural tapestry and symbolism of this revered tradition.
"Day of the Dead" is composed of two panels, each narrating its own story while perfectly complementing the other. Bright, lively colors such as marigold yellow, deep magenta, and rich purple sweep across the surface, capturing the essence of the festival's joyful remembrance and celebration of life. The texture is palpable, inviting viewers to imagine the feel of the surface and the stories etched within it.

Accents of turquoise and emerald bring additional vibrancy, accentuating the composition and encouraging the eye to journey across the planes of this abstract piece. These hues create a lively dance, evoking the spirit of the festivities, the delicate beauty of sugar skulls, and the ornate calaveras artistry.

A unique aspect of this work was the use of copper patina, a process that imbued the piece with an organic, slightly weathered look, akin to the timeless traditions and history celebrated during Día de los Muertos. This technique infused a sense of life and legacy into the artwork, amplifying the depth and resonance I aimed to capture.

Creating "Day of the Dead" has been a fascinating endeavor, filled with experimentation and discovery. It stands as a testament to the celebration of life and memory, and my hope is that it invites others to pause, reflect, and find their own stories within its vibrant depths.

"Reflections of the Soul"- Copper Patina Art

This piece measures 24 x 40 and is crafted from copper, a medium that allows me to explore the dynamic interplay of color and texture in an entirely new way.
The artwork is composed of two panels, each bursting with a fluid, abstract design. You'll immediately notice the swirling patterns in bright turquoise and earthy brown tones. These colors were carefully chosen to create a vibrant yet harmonious visual effect, reminiscent of natural formations or geological features. As you delve deeper into the piece, the rich and layered textures reveal themselves, adding depth and nuance to the overall composition. The organic lines and shapes give the artwork a sense of movement and balance, drawing the viewer into an immersive visual experience.

The inspiration for "Reflections of the Soul" came from a desire to capture the essence of fluidity and transformation. As I worked with the copper, I was particularly fascinated by the medium's ability to develop a unique patina over time, which adds an element of unpredictability and serendipity to the piece. This characteristic became a defining feature of the artwork and played a crucial role in its evolution.

The process of creating this piece was like a dance between control and surrender. The copper's natural properties required me to adapt and respond to its changes as I worked, making each step of the journey both challenging and rewarding. I hope that when you view "Reflections of the Soul," you're able to feel the movement and balance that the organic shapes and colors convey, and perhaps see a reflection of your own inner journey mirrored within its depths.

Through this artwork, I invite you to pause and reflect, to find your own meaning in the patterns and colors. Whether you see echoes of nature or traces of personal introspection, "Reflections of the Soul" is a testament to the beauty of transformation and the ever-changing essence of our inner worlds.

Close Up of Copper Patina

Close up of section of my coper patina art. I can pull lots of color hues and this blue is one of the most vibrant. The level of sparkling looking sand in this section is absolutely stunning. Copper Patina art is an organic metal art and all pieces are one of a kind. It is a Wabi Sabi Style of art which is my absolute favorite. I didn’t know what Wabi Sabi Art or style was until clients that purchased my art and Interior Designers pointed out that my art is that style.

"Copper Rain" - Copper Patina Mural

These panels were created to show the different hues of blues that can emerge from copper. It felt like it was a copper rain, here the name. It started out lightly and then got heavier as it went on.

Copper Patina is very much a Wabisabi Design Style. A style that embraces the natural flaws and imperfections to enhance the beauty of the final art.

These pieces have been SOLD and are on the way to a collector of my art in Travelers Rest, SC.

Copper Patina Mural section-

I’m working on a very large custom mural for a client and this is Phase 1 and only a section of it. He wants dark, bright colors and I think I nailed it for the background. I will be adding copper leaves, etc to the face of it. Stay tuned to see how the final piece comes to life. I love working on custom pieces as they give me an opportunity to think outside of my box. This one has been a little intimidating but becoming very excited about it.

This piece is for an Interior Deisgner who is an actual art collector.
